    Lens Sharpness for 50mm primes

    I'm looking for a prime portrait lens for my Nikon D5200 and was blindly heading for a 50mm. However a friend pointed out with the crop factor I should be looking at a 35mm instead. I've road tested a standard 50mm and found the results good, but I'm not sure what improvements a 35mm would give...

    Pointless kit

    I thought a Gorrilapod would be a great idea, got one and quickly realised it wasn't up to the job of holding anything bigger than a compact. Keeps my four year old entertained though so I suppose it does get some use!

    I have been looking for the same sort of thing for my D5200. John Lewis have a good price on the 35mm at the moment. That would do the job well, 50mm is the lens of choice for older film cameras and full frame cameras I believe.
