    yes it’s cold and windy up here too I used to focus stack macro manually but it was always hit and miss but the R5 (and 7) make it much easier

    yes depth of field on damselflies is narrow I’m normally on about F7.1 same as what you used I use the image stacking on the R5 , I think the R7 image stacking is the same , it’s excellent

    camera bag goes in a side box ,walking clothes and boots goes in the other boxes , when I get there I change out of biking gear which goes into the boxes

    Not sure if it’s available on touch screen computer not familiar with them but I use affinity photo on my iPad it’s great can do simple adjustments or more complicated things if you need to

    We have 2 ponds and for many years have used a polystyrene box about 2 feet long with a small hole cut in the side at the bottom so it floats on the pond like an igloo This keeps an air space free when the pond freezes
