    Canon 2x extender

it depends on lens and also the camera body you use it with as Dale said the mk 3 1.4 and 2.0 extenders were optimised for the white primes and work best with those rather than slower zoom lenses I use my 1.4 and 2.0 all the time on my 300 F2.8 quality is excellent

Software to convert CR2, CR3 to JPG (and ideally HEIF as well)

I use DXO photolab it’s excellent but quite expensive but feel it’s worth it compared to the cost of my kit

    Canon EOS R Series Cameras

bought my first RF lens today to go my my R5 , an STM 50 1.8 Didn’t actually have a 50 mm lens so I thought I may as well get the RF version Seems decent for a budget lens and its nice how close it can focus

Canon users -are RF lenses worth the premium for hobbyists?

Interesting point about the size difference between RF and EF lenses, was talking to a chap the other day who had the RF 100 - 400 on an R7 I was surprised how small it was hadn’t seen one before Apparently it can focus quite close as well so a pretty useful and easy to carry setup for nature...

Free of the 2 Stroke Monster.

    Can modern software cure GAS?

DXO is worth it though I have shot a band in low light and had to use maximum ISO on my R5 to get a high enough shutter speed, the results were really good

    Can modern software cure GAS?

The Tamron 90mm macro is a good lens anyway Do see what you mean though I have reprocessed raws that i took years ago on cameras that would be considered out of date with DXO 8 and am very happy with the results

Cheap Canon body for surfing photography.

I have used a 7D mk 1 and 2 for still and moving subjects a lot before I went full frame, I didn’t have any issues with the image quality from either but you had to nail the exposure, i used plus a third exposure compensation I did find the 7D mk 1 not so good for moving subjects the focus...
