Wide-angle lens for Canon EOS 350D ??

Hello, I would like to buy a wide-angle lens for my Canon EOS 350D (as I am off to walk up Kilimanjaro so hope to get some nice shots). I am not very technical when it comes to buying equipment so would be very grateful for some advice on which lens to buy please ... possibly a nice Canon one...
