Camera for a 3 year old

Thanks all! In the end I picked up a Fuji XP170 for £30 new - waterproof, drop proof etc. She's used a similar size camera so confident it will be good. Thanks for all the suggestions!

Camera for a 3 year old

My 3 year old daughter is constantly keen to take photos with my camera, my phone etc. I thought a camera would make a nice Christmas present but torn between buying one designed for children that age and buying a cheap small (probably second hand) P&S. She's perfectly capable of taking a photo...

Great set of photos you're producing! Really like the tone of them. Is the figure on the right a real person or a statue? Looks almost a bit Gormely-esque in silhouette.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who comes back with photos of lamp posts - I think I could do a whole show with my collection! Really like the high contrast mono.

I think I need to start getting out of bed earlier so I can attempt to emulate this. Great shot! If I was being picky, for my taste the buildings are a little too bright and so it feels to me a little artificial. But that might just be my preferences.

Slightly late to the party, but that's an amazing shot. Were you tracking the bird, or just timed your shot while in focus? Can't imagine the X-T1 coping with tracking...

I did something similar (although I had the 60 not the 56) and I have no issue with the image quality at all. Relative to the other lenses you're talking about, it's a chunky lens. For me, the memory of a 5d3 and any lens is recent enough that the 16-55 still seems a lighter option. For me the...

Impressive clouds - not everyday you see something like that. I wonder if it might benefit from the buildings being a little brighter. (it's possible that a boost to the yellows/oranges in the BandW mixer would do the trick).

I use an X-T1 to shoot a slightly hyperactive toddler. My experience is that the tracking is a bit inconsistent. In some situations it's 90% reliable and on a par with my 5D3. In others it struggles to keep up. Initially I thought it was to do with light levels, but in my experience I think it's...

I'm pretty impressed with that. Was that processed with Lightroom? Is that with noise reduction? If that's without, it's very smooth.

Thanks - any chance you could post the same crop of the version with shadows lifted?

That's an impressive amount of shadow recovery - what were the noise levels like?

I was about to say the very same thing. Doubly impressive for your first use of a new camera! Just goes to show how much of the outcome is photographer rather than camera.

Well that's a lot better than any shot I've got at Lyme Park - great use of perspective!
