What to learn first in Photography?

The most important thing is composure. Exposure comes next, IMO.

A couple from the SVR Spring Gala.

Really like #1, could be forgiven for thinking it was taken 100 years ago!

    Steam Train

Might have been nice to see a bit more of the length of the near side of the carriage but I like how you've captured the smoke.

Where is this place and how can I get there? ;) Great shot!

    Tulip and Dandelion

1: Middle of the flower is just not crisply sharp enough for the image IMO. 2: Like it a lot :)

What triggers you to go shooting?

An interesting question and interesting answers! For me, I don't get out nearly enough. If I arrange to meet someone to take photographs together or when I go on holiday are nearly the only opportunities I get. The best camera is the one you have with you though, as they say, so I'm finding I'm...

    Which lens for baby photoshoot

85mm for me; but you can rest assured you've got all the bases covered. Primes are preferable but as above, just wait and see when you get there what suits your style the most.

    The Eiffel Tower

Very interesting perspective. The symmetry is just a little bit off which is a bit distracting...but very enjoyable regardless.

    Mr or Mrs beady eyes

Np. :) As with Lez, I can think of a few other things I would run to get before scissors though! ;)

    What next?

Agreed. Ebay and the classified section on here will do you well.

    Galapagos Hawk

Absolutely awe inspiring. Such a beautiful bird, captured so well. Exposure is perfect, IMO.

Flickr - this photo is unavalable

I find that as I develop as a photographer that I am no longer proud of the images that I took 3 or 4 years ago and don't want them associated with my account and so delete them from flickr.
