Well took it back to Currys today. Will wait and see what happens next. Thing is they wont even find the mildest of scratches on the camera as I am extreme in looking after equipment. lol. So they better not attempt to even try and state I damaged it. It was marked down as completely undamaged...

I found that if you look at the lens in bright daylight you could see, while holding the shutter halfway, that the aperture blades open and close fine until you get to the 35mm point. you can see it. Then the blades do not move at all.

Yes it under warranty so will be returning it to the shop tomorrow. Annoying to be without it though until its fixed. :)

Well my XF1 has got a problem. grrrr. If I zoom any further than 35mm then every photo is over exposed. Guess its that aperture blades issue I have read elsewhere.

Ok on the X10 manual focus is slightly different. To autofocus while in manual focus mode (Sounds complex but isnt.) point you camera at something from about the distance you want to take your photo at (Super macro mode I assume for the X10) and press the AEL/AFL button. That will very rapidly...

For macro shots I have found the following to be useful. Put it into manual focus mode and then point your camera (At widest setting) at the distance you hope to be taking your shots at. e.g. 2 inches or so. Then click left on the main wheel at the back to lock that focus point. Then when you...

I love great sunsets. I personally cannot get on with the way the fuji does panoramas in camera so will also combine them in Photoshop.

You should have tried the pro lowlight mode. That would have been perfect for that situation. No graininess at all then. Mike

Thank you. Learning the limitations yet brilliance of this camera very quickly. In my dream world I want a longer zoom perhaps 8 to 10x rather than 4 but with the same quality throughout the zoom range. Would like manual focusing like the HS50 my mate has. Also would love at least 2.8 aperture...
