    z8 with 500mm fl. f4 or Canon r5 with with 500mm f4 m2

I have that canon combination and it's fantastic, but I'm sure the Nikon would be too. For me, it's about being able to change settings on the camera without thinking too much and I'm so used to Canon that it's instinctive. I'm sure if I magically switched to Nikon or Sony then I would...

    Wellies and alternatives???

My feet have been enjoying a pair of https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07FRX7J1G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 this winter for sitting on a freezing cold boat for hours. Not as comfy as walking boots but beautifully warm and waterproof in a couple of inches of water...

    Hide étiquette

[was going to start a new thread but found this one so thought I'd resurrect instead!] How long is it reasonable to sit at a great seat in in a busy hide if there are people waiting at the back of it, wanting to do some shooting? I think the sliding scale is something like: a - as long as I...

Lilac Breasted Roller - in south africa

Self drive safari in Kruger last month, there are quite a lot of these colourful little fellas! (wrestling with a 500mm f4 while parking and trying to get a shot before they fly away is *hard* :D )

is this a young crane? the colouring of the neck and head is wrong for an adult but it doesn't look like anything else! It was a long way off through the heat haze, this is pretty close to a 100% crop at 700mm.

    Kingfisher!

I coach rowing and spend a lot of time on the river, normally with my camera. I've seen this one along the same bit of the river before, but never sitting still. Last week, I finally got a shot off :) This is a 100% crop, hopefully next time I'll get a bit closer!

    Your personal post-processing process...

wildlife and sports photographer with an R5 so not many keepers and huge files. Cards into card reader. Open in FastRawViewer Bin all the OOF, obviously less good pics from a burst - probably about ½ - ¾ of files go straight into the bin Import the ones left into Lightroom, onto an external...
