Basra is pretty safe as most of bombings / trouble is in Baghdad and north of the country but you do need to have a sponsor to get in which is a real pain. I haven't taken a camera with me on my past two trips but I'm going to the next time I'm over there - seen some really interesting army...
Sorry for the delay in replying Martin - been a bit busy. I'm actually doing some HSE Consultancy work over there on a construction job for an oil company!! Used to do that type of work before moving into full-time photography. I'm lucky that the company are very flexible with my timings so I...
I was just looking at photos I took at a wedding in 1978 on a Practika!! After all these years I think that I've improved quite a bit. Saying that its a bit difficult to compare now and then.
Each year I spend a couple of days looking back at all my work critically and am always surprised...
I've just started working in the Basra area and looking at the photos nothing much has changed at all in the country. Only weapons on view now are Private Security Firms with AK's and the Iraqi military with the same!! Occasionally see a Hummer with a 0.5 mounted on it.

That is a crazy offer but at the end of the day they can offer what they want. Pretty sure that you won't be buying from Calumet in the future.
Interested in knowing why you want to update your D3S to a D4 if you have only had it for a year and put 3200 actuations through it?
Quick update - I had an email from Flash Camera yesterday to say that the lens had been dispatched. It arrived this morning, well packaged and I've just put it onto the camera. All works really well.
Very pleased with the price and the service offered from Kerso - certainly happy to recommend...
Just ordered a 24-105 f4 L lens from Flashcamera (for my wife's 7d). Spent ages looking around the various suppliers but decided to go with Ian as I liked the comments that people have made on this forum.
Got free delivery and as I paid by bank transfer another 1.5% off so I'm a happy banana...
