For those who don't like B/W: the AI solution for $10,000

Yes, I looked it up as well.

For those who don't like B/W: the AI solution for $10,000

I don't think it is exactly like that, artists are using AI as "part of their work" and, as I said in another post, the work was done by a named apparently well known artist as part of a series of similar work. It's also being sold by a serious art dealer, so I assume there was more to it than...

For those who don't like B/W: the AI solution for $10,000

I can't back into the link I posted, but in one the things I read it said that the colouring was done by a named well-known artist (not that I had heard of them) using AI, and was part of as series they had created on several well known photographs. EDIT: I've tried to find the post where it...

For those who don't like B/W: the AI solution for $10,000

I think it probably goes beyond the legalities. As for the legal side, I'm not sure if the copyright stays with the Trust, as long as it exists, or whether it still lapses after a set period.

For those who don't like B/W: the AI solution for $10,000

The man himself was enthusiastic about digital imaging, but I'm not sure about taking an iconic image, tweaking it with AI and selling it for $10,000.

I don't think this has been posted, but there is a bit of furore going on about the AI updating of Ansel Adams Moonrise: Hernandez photograph. https://www.artnews.com/art-news/news/ansel-adams-trust-danziger-gallery-ai-artwork-aipad-1234787113/

    Will This Work ?

Zone system apart, it was common practise to increase or decrease the development time for B/W wedding photographs, depending on whether it was a dull or a bright day. In Scotland it was rare to reduce development time :-( Films (roll films, no one used 35mm in those days) would be marked up...

    Will This Work ?

With roll film cameras, many came with interchangeable film magazines, so you could keep one magazine for say+2 development and another for -2 (or whatever you wanted). You could do the same with 35mm bodies, and just change lenses between bodies.

    Will This Work ?

My every day exposure leaned heavily on incident metering, but like you, and all the professionals I knew, apart from the occasional experiment, I also stuck with the same couple of film types and one developer. But "learning" the zone system gave me insights into exposure and development that...

    Will This Work ?

The fixed contrast paper still came in multiple contrast grades, and you would work in producing negatives with an optimum contrast for a Grade 2 paper (or whatever you decided upon). A grade 2 with one paper maker, might not have the same contrast as a grade 2 paper from another maker. And...

    Will This Work ?

I'm not convinced that it's easier to identify an appropriate shadow and highlight area than it is to identify a zone V area. And there is no reason to assume that the mid-point between the two will give an appropriate exposure. This is going to depend on how far apart the highlight and shadow...

The craft of retouching (and AI)

This is Capture One discussion with Jan Wischermann, a high end retoucher (think Vogue etc), which turned out to be an hour of him discussing the AI is having on his industry and how it;s affecting his business (Capture One is barely mentioned), I think there is one question at the end that is...

    Photoshop

This will depend on how complex it is, but strong compatibility with Adobe has been one attraction of Affinity. It's certainly worth giving it a go, given it's free, and with the Canva takeover, has realised its ambitions to become an all in one graphic suite. Although Serif released them as...
