Critique A couple from last week's storms

County Donegal sits right in the north west corner of Ireland, and gets all her harsh and rugged natural beauty from the occasional battering she receives from the open Atlantic Ocean. I went out armed with my camera last week and, although I missed the worst of it, I still got a few shots I'm...

    Critique Single flasgh-gun experiment

I actually processed a sharp version (for the hair, mouth and eyes) and a soft version (for the skin,) then used a layer mask to blend them together. Her chest is probably much too smooth as well. This always happens me, when Im working on a photo I always push it too much, and think it looks...

    Critique Single flasgh-gun experiment

Thats the main area I think was over processed. Whatever way I did the BW conversion it made her bottom eyelids turn white, so below each eyeball but above each bottom row of eyelashed there was quite a pronounced white line which I tried to burn away. Probably dodges the actual eyeballs a bit...

    Critique Single flasgh-gun experiment

Hi all. I decided last night to try to get to grips with my flash gun which I've had for at least 2 years, but have always been afraid of using as I know nothing about them. So I asked a friend to model, bounced the flash off the ceiling and got this. Last night whilst editing I absolutely...

Critique Dunluce Castle, Antrim coast, Northern Ireland

Hi all. Myself and the better looking half had a day off together yesterday so we went for a drive to a local country park then called up to the spectacular Dunluce Castle on the way home, just in time for sunset. This is a blending of two different exposures using a layer mask. I feel like my...

    Critique Autumn time

Not at all, feel free to edit by all means! Mine is a little bit on the warm side in fairness, but I'm pretty happy that the DOF centres the attention on the leaf. The vignette may have been worth looking at though. Thanks for commenting!

Critique Two recent shots for critique

Any opinions on this edit? Boosted contrast and exposure and did a little bit of burning on his face. I have something in the back of my head telling me I read something once that said high contrast suited feminine faces better (basically the entire cosmetics industry is based around this...

Critique Two recent shots for critique

Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment. I'll start with the 2nd one, of baby Ethan. This is actually a very tight crop on a much wider photograph my girlfriend took of her friends kid. To be honest it definitely is a little bit soft. I wasn't there so I'm not sure if the child was...

    My 1st real Wedding!

I dont think the 3rd one is ruined coz there are no feet in it. I didnt even notice until you said. No one is interested in their feet. OK, maybe its not what the texts books say but it hardly ruins the pic.
