About to purchase a 550d myself at the moment. I plan on taking pics of motorsport. Is the 55-250 IS lens good enough for this? Im a complete newbie myself... Sorry for the thread hijack. But this is an interesting thread..

Have found out a family member works for canon and can get a 550d with 18-55 lens for £432 or a 600d with 18-55 lens for £473 is that good? anyone know much difference in the two cameras?

Thats the two cameras i had been thinking about. But it depends on who your talking to recommend a different brand lol I don't want to buy something that in 6 months ill have to upgrade from or else something that wont work well with fast action sports such as bike racing.
