Beginner Wedding photography courses around London - are they worth it/recommendations

If you are considering online options then it would be worth looking at The Wedding School which is run by Susan Stripling. Although US based it’s international in its reach and the support provided by Susan and fellow members in their Facebook groups is exceptional.

Hire car UK to Europe .. Advice ?

If you’ve owned yours a long time and it’s served you well that AA cover sounds like a good option to me. I used to mostly hire 3-series! My own car was a 10 year old 3 door Suzuki Swift - fun to drive but not great for long distances or more than 2 people !

Hire car UK to Europe .. Advice ?

I forgot you do need to pay a deposit up front (I cant remember if I paid the whole excess upfront as a deposit). If you return the car undamaged, you get the deposit back. If there is damage (or theft of the vehicle) you lose your deposit. So the three options are 1. take the excess insurance...

Hire car UK to Europe .. Advice ?

Get your own excess cover - you will save potentially hundreds of pounds if you are away for a month. I used insurance4carhire.com and last paid around £39 for *annual* cover. Google 'excess cover insurance' and you will find lots of options. Check for restrictions on maximum period for a...

Monopod / Gimbal Heads for Sports

That’s what I was wondering really - is it self defeating ? It seems to make it easier to adjust the direction of the camera, especially up and down, but makes it a much heavier piece of kit to carry, so self defeating in that respect. Thanks for replying.

Monopod / Gimbal Heads for Sports

I was thinking it may (?) make moving the camera/lens around easier but the penalty would be the extra weight. I’d be interested to hear how you get on if you do try it Also I was thinking specifically of gimbal+monopod as I was thinking of footy mostly where tripods aren’t really practical.

    Too bright for f2.8

I think what happened was I was on Aperture Priority at f2.8 and couldn’t get the shot which confused me, so I switched to Manual stayed at f2.8 and I think it just would not go lower than 1/4000th which was overexposed. However having tried the camera this morning, it will go to 1/8000th so...

    Too bright for f2.8

Unfortunately at the moment I have no money at all - I have been thinking of selling my D750 to upgrade to the D850 when I do have some. I really like the 750 though so am umming and ahhing about that ! (having said that I was surprised recently when comparing D750 images to D5 images from the...

    Too bright for f2.8

I must admit I had been thinking about a D850, just need to find some money from somewhere! F4 was fine. When I put an teleconverter on it goes out to f5.6 and is ok. I was just thinking of ways that would allow me to stay at F2.8 :)
