Making learners pass their CBT would be a good start - or making a car based basic test compulsory before learners are allowed on the road.

Much as I like my ICE car, I do enjoy driving Mrs Nod's EV - spectacular acceleration and hugely reduced cost per mile.

When Mrs Nod and her Mum had it a few years back, they only knew because of the second line on the test. I was in the same house with both (and the same bed as one) but didn't succumb to it.

Last time I filled my bike, it took just over a tenner of E5. Tiny tank so I tend to top it up at anything under 1/2 full. Used to be well under a tenner from empty!
