    WCMUT....what cheered me up today

WCMUT was saving more than we paid for entry to the Devon County Show today. Saved 1 1/2 tickets on a single item - a 6" paring knife in a very nice Damascus pattern with a burl wood handle. Might have bought more than enough cheese but it's all wax wrapped so will last months!

    Help! Slow, not loading, freezing

OK, must have been a local and temporary issue at my end! Even picture heavy threads are now loading as expected.

    Help! Slow, not loading, freezing

The site seems very slow this afternoon (22/5/2026). Up to 10 seconds to load a text (rather than image) based page. Other sites are as normal.

    Watameter.

Is the datum of the Watameter aligned with the film plane?

    Ball Head not tightening

Ah! I was going to suggest sticking the whole shebang into a jug of boiling water to see if the difference in the coefficient of expansion between the screw and the body was enough to loosen it a bit.

    WCMUT....what cheered me up today

Today's CMU was the other 2 sailing through. One did have to make a slight tack because the front brake light switch (which worked fine a couple of days ago!) needed a squirt of switch cleaner to jog its memory but works fine again now.

I'm similar with needles and have to look the other way when I'm jabbed. However, I do have several tattoos!

Problems adapting a Nikon F mount lens to Canon 5d

Surely the protrusion is on the back of the adaptor rather than the lens?

    A big film scanner thread

For cheap film scans, look at 7datshop's site. They seem to have little ones for around £50. https://www.7dayshop.com/evodx-8mp-35mm-slide-negative-film-scanner?search=film%20scanner
