The GAS confessional - all who suffer are welcome. :)

Not purchased any new gear for almost two years now so I need to do something about that... I've got a Fuji X-T20 with 18-55, 27mm and 55-230 which is a good setup for me, I've noticed though that most of my shots are either at 18mm or with the 55-230 so I'm thinking of parting with the 27mm...

What are your initial thoughts on the XF10? I have the X-T20 currently but thinking about getting an XF10 to compliment it, the majority of my photos are taken at or around 18mm so I'm thinking it may be an ideal pocket camera for days out...

    Chamonix - French Alps

Hi All, I've been looking at planning a trip to the Alps, I've seen a Thomas Heaton video where he visits Mer De Glace in the French Alps in Chamonix (link below), has anyone else been to the area, any tips, is it worth a visit, other suggestions? Thanks all. View: https://youtu.be/jwWd0RMjC34

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Sunset over Derwent Water in October 2019. Shot on an X-T20, hand held HDR as I'd been awake almost 30 hours at this point and couldn't be bothered to mess about with Tripods :D Derwent Water by Adam P, on Flickr

Beginner Real World Back Button Focusing?

With my previous NIkon, I used back button focus and found it to be a great feature, I now have a Fuji X-T20 and cannot use back button focus as it just doesn't feel right because the camera is so much smaller so I think it largely depends on your camera...

    Rydal Grot

It's a lovely place, I did find it hard to shoot though, lots of dynamic range, I regret not bracketing but at the time it was raining rather heavily. so it was a bit rushed...

One from a recent trip to the lakes, I was hoping for a little more Autumn colour but I think I was about a week too early. Rydal Grot in the grounds of Rydal Hall. Rydal Grot by Adam P, on Flickr

    Circular Polarizer

Thanks for the responses and advice. I'm a bit surprised at how many fakes there are on eBay, considering circular polarisers are a bit of a niche...

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Had my first proper trip out with the camera this year, last Friday. Despite the weather and having to buy an umbrella as soon as I arrived in Keswick, I'm quite happy with some of the photos I left the Lake District with, here is Buttermere St James church. I also visited Ambleside, Rydal...

    Circular Polarizer

When you say genuine, do you mean there is fake hoya/b+w filters floating around on eBay or have I misunderstood? Thanks, I'm always a little cautious with eBay.

    Circular Polarizer

I've just noticed the grade rating on them, Amazon currently have a bundle of an ND8, ND1000, Circular Polariser and a UV for £80 which seems reasonable, I'm not interested in the UV but it's included anyway.

    Circular Polarizer

Hello. I currently have an old Jessops circular polarizer but I'm not happy with the quality of the images it produces so I'm after an upgrade. I keep seeing Gobe filters on Amazon, price seems reasonable and they plant a tree for every filter sold, does anyone have any experience using Gobe...

Auto bracketing - Do you do it?

So, to add to my previous post about bracketing more often than not, I spent the day in the Lake District yesterday and bracketed nearly every shot so I have a choice of exposures to work from when I process the images, one downside I discovered yesterday (though obvious if you think about it)...

    Shameless HDR

I have no issue with HDR, when done properly it can really change an image. I took this in Ambleside last year on a dull, overcast day, -1/+1 exposure. Bridge House - Ambleside by Adam P, on Flickr Surprised me too!
