Spotted this Heron with a frog in it's beak. It flew off as I got closer but wasn't letting go of it's meal....

Hiya and thank you all for your replys. Once the weather improves a little I will hopefully be getting plenty of outside shots. She's a little young to understand freeze just yet (16 Months) but maybe by the summer we'll be a little closer. I had the flash on the camera for something else...

She won't sit still long enough to pose yet, so I managed this just clicking away as she was walking round the house. I think it is the most natural picture I have of my little lady so far. I could do with some advice on getting her to sit and pose for me though.

I prefer in my version how her legs vanish into the shadows. The other one now looks more like a crop. In my version the black all the way round makes a full border for the picture. I guess all tastes are different. :)

Well I am glad to see the creases have gone. The legs to dark for the shot etc is the effect I wanted for this shot. The poses were just taken naturally but the final effect is the shot I wanted. Just glad you lot have shown me how far out my monitor was. The way the whole shot is in...

Gamma was way to low on screen. If this works then this is more the effect I wanted. Creases this time..????

Now I know I need to get rid of this laptop and go back to a real monitor lol. I can't see the creases on my screen. :(

Hiya. Thanks for your comment. Yes you was right. the white balance was on auto. I have just changed it to Flash and can see the difference.

No.1 Was what I was trying to get. The pose was a fluke but works for me :) No.2 I guess is more of a personal liking. Each time I look at it reminds me she is just starting to make her own "Shouts" other than cries. :)

I am just waiting for that same kit to be delivered. :)

Try a couple of Sky Hooks. Should leave no marks on the walls then :D

Thanks you for the comments. I haven't adjusted the shots at all. She was only 2 days old in the shots so didn't want to use any flash. they are both taken with available light only. The background in the 1st is just her blanket on the floor. Would I need more light (maybe flash) to get more...
