Its a great little lens and as has been said, weighs nothing. Optically it is excellent. The only negative is the plastic lens mount but for the money it is a cracking lens. I have bought three with various body/kit deals and sold two to Camera Jungle who picked them up FOC and gave me £83.75...

Mine gets slightly warm unlike any of my previous X100's. As I understand it the dust/weather sealing doesn't allow any heat that is generated to escape and is disipated in the area of grip, a sort of heat sink.....but that may be utter bolleaux.

Both lenses, both teleconverters. 2x suits the 50-140mm perfectly and retains its IQ throughout the focal range. The 100-400mm is best suited to the 1.4x but on its own it is a sublime lens. Both teleconverters are on the Refurb site at £279 each.

It lovely Alan but this 'German is best' is a bit of a myth. Herman goes into 'limp' mode as you near a Trappist Brewery or a vineyard and only just makes it to the site. He then takes almost 24 hours to self- calibrate his electronics before you can leave and the only thing you can do in the...

A fellow 'tin tent' aficianado! Fantastic way of visiting some wonderful places. Our is 'Herman the German' and he has taken us all over Europe wildcamping where possible. Never had a problem with security as our two Rotties come with us. This was taken on the top of the Lac De Sainte-Croix...

    Beginner All-round Compacts (beginner)

The X-A7 is a lovely camera, and I am a FujiFilm fan and user, but do remember that it doesn’t have a viewfinder. It’s sibling, the X-T200 does. The X-T200 and lens is £599 on the FujiFilm Refurb store or £598 at UKCamerastore. I would add the extra £50 for the viewfinder on a heartbeat over...

Stingy LOL, yes crossed posts as I was replying to you and it seems that some have been very impressed with their LX100's as was I till it vacuumed in dust! If you do want a really superb compact camera and are happy to add lenses as and when then do have a look on EBay and the Panasonic...

My LX100 was a dust magnet and bad on me for not doing a bit more research before buying it, so I would be very wary before parting with your cash. I replaced it with a GX9, which, with the standard zoom kit lens, is not much bigger than the LX100 and is a far superior set up (for me). Plus...

It's very simple. Tell your beloved that one of your friends is too embarrassed to have a years supply of haemorrhoid cream delivered and has asked if he may have it delivered to your address. Being a kind hearted soul you have agreed and, as it may be delivered whilst you are out this...

Spoken like a man with all digits and bits crossed. You fibber you. But it is a superb lens and, much as I am loath to admit it, as sharp as my 50-140 without the weight. Save up your pocket money till next week and treat yourself to the 10-24, it is fast becoming my favourite lens after the 90mm.

I know, its a bugger. The Memsahib sent me to Lidl with a food shopping list as long as a very long thing and I was mesmerised by a 20v cordless power washer and bought the square root of SFA off the list. Brilliant little washer which was worth the stony cold stare of complete and utter...

Marc On a related, but non-mains charging option, I have waltzed down the Aisle of Dreams at Lidl and picked up a couple of these LivarnoLux LED torches. Cracking bit of kit encased in a water resistant alloy body, rechargeable battery, two levels of light intensity, an SOS flashing mode and...

+1 to everything you have noted regarding the X-H1. I much prefer it to my X-T3 and, having bought and then returned an X-T4, I still contend that the X-H1 is the finest APSC camera that FujiFilm has ever made. I thought that the X-T4 would blow me away but in truth I did not like the screen...

    Cordless mowers........?

I reluctantly mothballed my Toro petrol mower and under pressure from the long haired General, ie my beloved, bought an EGO LM2122E cordless mower. It came with a 7.5ah battery, is self-propelled and folds away to nothing. All my misgivings regarding battery powered garden tools were blown away...

I use the Fujifilm X70 adapter ring and lens hood on my X100V. It is £19.99 plus p&p on the Fujifilm UK Refurb site under the Offers heading and looks superb on the camera and doesn't intrude too much when using the OVF. I have the silver one but black is available and a 49mm filter fits...
