Got the excellent BRUTAL zine this morning from @FishyFish. I too love brutal architecture and this zine covers an example so well. The use of monochrome is perfect when looking at both the interior and exterior views. Water and reflections, acute angles and the vertical lines along the passage...
1. How much effort was required to make your zine? (Out of ten, based on the whole time you had)
2. How much panicked effort was required to make your zine? (out of ten based on the time you gave yourself to do it)
3. How satisfied were you with your zine (Grade yourself as if you were a...
The zine of @Motaz arrived with me this morning. It is a very impressive production, considering how much reported frustration there had been in seeing this project to fruition. I'm very taken with the size of the zine and the arrangement of the photographs. The matt paper added a different and...
I received the zine from @Mr Perceptive a few days ago. It is an outstanding piece of work. The sequencing of images, layout, texts and quality of production all add to the picturing of this disquiet and haunting landscape. I first became acquainted with the Dungeness landscape through Derek...
I received your excellent zine today Paul. It's a very well produced piece of work. 'Caustic' is a good title and immediately sets up this powerful document to the effects of the human on the landscape, and the details in the strong images illustrate so well the toxic legacy of a particular...
Your zine arrived with me today. I think it's very good. I like the 'home production' with a mix of glossy and matt cover images. In my opinion, this is a 'true zine' in the sense of DIY and playing with colour and an alternative focus. Yes, look down! It's often where the mysteries are, natural...
Some thoughts: are you within striking distance of a place which might offer the potential of a photowalk for people to come to, and if so, might you be interested in hosting a walk?
Thank you Ian, for your kind words. 1) The sheep was initially out of frame and so I waited for it to slowly munch its way into position. 2) I bought the rubber camera stamp from a physical store outside Eastbourne called Hobbycraft about five years ago. They have an online presence...
I received the glorious street photography zine of Marino this morning. It is a well printed and well executed sequence of monochrome images, each one empowered with a teasing narrative. Image, time and memory make for a potent mix in this wonderfully curated zine. Thank you.
Thank you, Ian, for 'Poultry In Motion'. It's a great idea and I do like your approach to each of the personalities who have been caught beautifully in their different poses. An excellent production throughout.
I totally agree with you about the printed image. For me it's the tactile paper all the time. I worked for many years in one of the UK copyright libraries, and every year the equivalent of about half a mile length of new shelving had to be created for all the new incoming printed books/material
