    A big film scanner thread

The big plus point of Vuescan has been it's ability to work with a huge range of scanners, so a definite consideration if you're going to buy a few older ones. I use it for my Minolta 5400 35mm scanner, but find Epson Scan to be better for the V700.

New Old Film Challenge #276 'Inflatable'

Retrieving the RIB @ RNLI Kessock. Filmdev and almost certainly Gold, but not sure about the camera. There are tele shots on the roll, so probably the F80 with 70-210?

    Nikon F801

https://butkus.org/chinon/nikon/nikon_f-801s_af/nikon_f-801s_a_af.htm What film are you loading? If it doesn't have the iso info on the cartridge, you have to set it manually . Fomapan films are generally like that.

So it looks like I am going to see some Puffins

I was there in 2024 with an X-T5 and the 70-300 (450 equiv on full frame) and was at the long end most of the time.

Show us yer film shots then!

What's actually wrong with it Kevin? My one took a couple of funny turns a couple of years back, but eventually started working again.

    D23 Developer

That was a few years ago, more recent Foma films have been much better.

    D23 Developer

Some Fomapan films are well known for turning developers green. Braver folk than me have re-used them successfully, but I have always used one shot devs for Fomapan since my first experience.

Sounds good to me Wayne. :)

    Focus Scope

No, assuming you don't have a sheet of paper on the baseboard at this point. If you wanted to be totally accurate, you coud have a previously exposed sheet in place while focussing, but not an unexposed sheet.

    Focus Scope

You can usually get rough focus visually, then use the scope to fine focus the negative, so no major movements.
