I've been interested in photography as, shall we say, a casual amateur photographer since about 1971 when given a Kodak Instamatic when we lived in Hong Kong as a naval brat. If I'd realised at the time how precious snapshots of that time would become I would have begged and borrowed every roll of film I could get my hands on. Sadly, I only have a few remaining.
In teen years just prior to girls and motorbikes, got interested in home darkroom so have spent a brief period wrestling with Paterson dev tanks in blacked out bathroom and an ancient Gnome enlarger.
First 'serious' camera was a Canon EOS 1 (I think), which produced some wonderful pictures until finally the shutter gave up.
Arrived at digital photography with a Nikon D70 (sensor developed dark spots) so upgraded to D700 for a while, no real investment in lenses except a Sigma 10-20mm.
Saw a chance at a once in a lifetime opportunity to get the full frame R6 at a good price not knowing it was soon to be superseded and have since developed an acute case of a lot of gear, little idea.
In other areas I've played bass guitar on and off for along time and been in and out of local bands for the last 25 years or so. I also enjoy motorcycles having owned a range of machine from Honda moped through to Ducati 900 and currently easing off with a modest Honda 350.
