    Nikon Z* mirrorless

I've given up even thinking about it these days. Is one lens sharper than another? Who cares they're all so sharp now it's fairly irrelevant. It's the look you get now. I mean the 85/1.8s lens is sharp as anything, but I hated the look which is why the 85/1.2 is so good, it just has a nicer...

Godox work fine on Z cameras, but they sometimes need to have the FW updated. My V1 didn't work when I moved to the Z line but after updating the FW in it it's worked fine since.

I'd start by upgrading the FW on the Godox. That would be the usual thing.

What's even more eye opening is when you put a grip on the Zf to try and salvage the ergonomics and then you're at basically the same size as a Z8, and the weight difference is then only an EN-EL15 battery. I really wanted to like the Zf, but like you I think a lighter, and overall smaller...

The microSD and lack of an XQD/CF slot are a non-issue. Simply the two SD cards for fine in the Zf. The problem with the Zf is the ergonomics. It's a shame Nikon didn't get this right this time.

I use a dual spider holster and a shootsac for the spare lenses these days. The only downside is you can't fit the new bigger 1.2 primes in the shootsac but it's perfect IMO.

It lost me when it claimed from the off there are 7 lenses that go to 400mm then listed all four of them and then included the 600/4

It’s a shame it didn’t work for me on the ergonomics side of things. It’s a lovely camera other than that. Had the UpS label through last night so mine will be on its way back on Monday.

That doesn't say resolution drops unless I'm blind. And I bet if you took an image at 400 without the TC and then one with, and printed them both, nobody would be able to tell the difference other than a different FoV. I use the 1.4tc a lot on all my lenses that take it and other than maybe...

From a practical perspective, the 100-400 + TC I think makes more sense. And the 1.4TC is so good you won't know it's there image quality wise.

Yeah that is a surprise TBH

I doubt the issues you are seeing are due to the VR and a monopod. I use VR on lenses all the time and never had an issue. I wonder if it's just that the 180-600 isn't an S lens

A 20Mp sensor will always give a cleaner output than a 45Mp one. But if you resized the 45Mp file to 20Mp there wont be that much difference. Since Lightroom sorted out its noise reduction I've not worried about noise on the Z8 or Z9.

    D750 to Z5 or Z6ii ?

Depends on the work. What are you using it for? We shot for years on one roll of film, then one memory card. If you are doing significantly enough work to worry about dual cards then go straight to the Z8 and you won’t look back.

Small bag recommendations? For an X-T3 + prime attached.

I’d go billingham if you want something weatherproof. Just avoid Wandrd imo as they just soak up water through the back and get so wet inside it’s crazy.
