    Neewer with Godox triggers

I saw a Neewer ad the other day where it appeared that someone was using a Godox X trigger to control a new Neewer flash (basically a V1 ripoff). I’ve just been to look at the flash on Amazon, and there it is, with Godox compatibility mentioned in the sub head , and the V1 clone is £180 vs £300...

    Canon EOS R Series Cameras

I’ve only had a go once, took some pics of one of the grandkids. But I’ve not even had time to download the files.

Beginner Canon EOS R7 + Canon 100-400mm or OM-1 Mark II + M.Zuiko Digital ED 75-300mm II (or ED 100-400mm)

Probably too late now but the Canon ‘free 48hrs’ extends at bank holiday weekends The usual time for a weekend is delivery on Friday and pickup Monday. But it’s not unusual for them to do a Thursday delivery when they’re busy. I’ve had a Thursday to Tuesday ‘48 hrs’ before. You’ll at least...

Press photographers - how did they get shots back to the office?

Last time I had any dealings at work, was a secure fax line required for criminal records disclosure, but that was over 10 yrs ago. I’m aware that there’s still ‘live’ instructions required in the NHS to stop people purchasing them. But I’m aware there are still business transactions where a...

Fax’s are older than we think, there’s something like a 17 yr overlap where Abraham Lincoln could have sent a fax to an actual Samurai warrior. One of my favourite tech facts.

Why do photographers lose photos in the field?

The one comment I’d make is that the early questions are about my current methods, and the one time I had a corrupt card I only had a single card slot. OK. 2 comments, I selected ‘Partial loss’, but the reality is that for a card with hundreds of images, I managed to recover all bar one.

    Off Camera Wireless Flash Triggering.

I think the 200d is one of those era of canon cheap DSLR’s that didn’t have a proper hotshoe with the centre pin. So cheap simple triggers won’t work

    Ball head that behaves differently?

if you watch one of the videos on the site, you see at about 6 secs, the base of the ball head is also a partial ball and socket.

Shooting vertically with no access to view

As above, this is a highly camera specific question. Some cameras have their own WiFi apps, different cameras have different screen connections etc.

If I’ve understood your question correctly (I don’t know what fv mode is). You can set a minimum shutter speed for auto iso. That way you never get inappropriate shutter speeds. Mines set at 1/250. And if I need higher than that I choose TV and select my shutter speed (usually for sports)

Canon users -are RF lenses worth the premium for hobbyists?

It’s about 2/3 the weight of the 50mm 1.8, I’d consider that significant. Particularly as I’m then hanging that little 50mm lens further from my camera.

Canon users -are RF lenses worth the premium for hobbyists?

Same as I wrote in my first answer, small light lenses attached to a large heavy adaptor feel awful to me. It’s a personal choice, but can you use the camera size site to view them side by side? For me, I’d definitely go for the rf
