Thanks for all the help... perhaps i'll invest in a lens hood which some of you suggested.. and in response to Mattfeliks, no, not using any filters... just a D60 and the standard VR lens... again, thanks for all your help!

Hi, im completely new to the world of photography so sorry if the answers to my questions seem obvious.... im a complete beginner.. I been taking some photos where the sun causes flaring across the image (hoping thats the right term) is this acceptable from the view of a proffesional...
