    the eclipse

Here are a couple I took at Tewkesbury Abbey. The second one is the Abbey with the eclipse still going, but behind the abbey, about 10 minutes after the 'slimmest' part. Eclipse at Tewkesbury. 12.08.26 by Andy Williams, on Flickr Eclipse at Tewkesbury. 12.08.26 by Andy Williams, on Flickr...

    the eclipse

I often wonder about this exposure to the sun. I have a 10 year old dashcam, still gives a perfect 1080p video, yet the times I have driven into the sun for many minutes, and sometimes even an hour or so, and this while the sun is still quite high and bright, as apposed to low and darker sunset...

URTH Magnetic Filter kit. Recommend a case.

I would like to put my magnetic filters in a case. The filters are for 67mm lens. At the moment together they are around 22mm thick. Is there a nice case I can keep them in. I don't mind if its for a cake or other use, if it does the job, then great.

    ND 10(1000). ND16

I have an ND 10 (1000) filter and it is ideal for sunspots and creamy waterfalls etc. I read that for the forthcoming eclipse, & for work on the sun (sunspots) etc an ND 16 filter is better. So I ordered an ND 16. It arrived today but I can see through it and the sun is much too bright for it...

Telephoto up to 300mm for Sony a6400

How much do you want to spend? You can get a pre used one for £558-00. Personally I would not use anything else if you need long reach. I use mine for the fast jets at RIAT, for bird, wildlife photos, for Steam trains & even for Bee's on flowers.

    Adobe Creative Cloud

Interesting, I've been using the Expand, Gen Fill, Create & so on for a couple of years. I love playing with it & I used it a lot, I never knew I had credits, or that I was using credits I didn't know I had.

    Adobe Creative Cloud

I notice in the write up you get '25 monthly generative AI credits'. Does this mean in Photoshop, every time you use 'expand' or make up an imaginary picture 'you use up credits now?

    Adobe Creative Cloud

Looking at the reviews, one person said you can't 'stack' it anymore. If I went for this and a good offer comes up on Black Friday, can I buy the Black friday offer but activate it when this one ends, as oposed to 'stacking' it immediately. I've bought the 12 months plans in the past then...

    Photoshop - Any Deals?

When my subscription ended two months back Photoshop offered me nothing. Just a three months at £10.00 then 9 months at £15.00. No offer of even paying £120.00p/a. My subscription was in fact p/a when I bought one of the Amazon packages the year before. Some people say that if you tell them you...

Mac Options for downloading and culling

I use Parallels and Windows 11. Both easy to obtain cheap. Then the few programmes that are not on Mac, can be used on the Windows side.

    Alternative to Photoshop?

I have downloaded Affinity trial. It will take a little getting used to but I like what I have done...ON Affinity. But when I export it the file is brighter than the one showing on Affinity. I put the downloaded file by the side of the one in the Affinity programme and there is quite a...

    Alternative to Photoshop?

It is a one touch AI colourisation process. One click and it colourises a black and white photo. It is very good with flesh tones, trees and some other items. None are perfect, but it gives a very good start to the process.

    Alternative to Photoshop?

Looking back I didn't do much with my own photo's, but it's nice to have the tools should I, however I do tend to use it a lot to repair old photo's, black and white, and colour. I use it to colourise old B/W photos. Then touch up the colours where the neural filters fail. This can take more...
