Nicely done Drew, looking forward to meeting you at the awards evening. You can give me some pointers on landscape photography, I'm rubbish at it!! lol
I've often had the upgrade urge for the VRII but I don't really use it enough to warrant it, plus I've generally read there is little in it optically?
Not a fan of the VR in the MKI version though it must be said :gag:
No focus issues with either camera here so far, or lock ups - and I've got highlights on. Fingers crossed I don't get hit with it. As an aside, my old D7000 locked up recently with a crappy memory card in. Never done it before!
Dragging my poor old C2D 2009 MBP with 4gb RAM along until the new iMacs arrive but so far the laptop is fine until you start opening multiple RAWs or creating a few layers. No doubt it's not 'snappy' though!
Fair to say to do heavy editing 'quickly' you need a lot of grunt to push the D800...
Also, unless it's changed now, Nikon UK won't touch an imported camera unless you can show you've paid all VAT and duties when brining it in to the country.
I agree. I absolutely love the XQD card both in terms of size and build ad most importantly, speed. They are lightening fast, and will only get faster. I really hope other manufacturers jump on board and we see this format becoming the norm in the future!
