Very good for a first attempt. I'd maybe try forcing a bit more Bokeh if you get chance, pub venues never make for particularly nice backgrounds! Other than that, nice!

I'd be looking at 16Gb plus of RAM, maybe an I5 CPU, and whatever board you need. If you've got a case already, save your money and use that, put more towards the chip.

Thanks Chris. I think 1 and 3 were around 1/20th to 1/30th. #2 was a snatched shot in between shooting digital at a festival, very sunny day and full auto hence the highlights. Something to work on next time though. The blurred stand effect is actually her reflection in the lid of the piano...

Another, albeit odd, work round I've used occasionally with limited kit for this sort of thing - long exposure and manually pop the flash, if your flash head will let you? You can simulate having a couple of radio triggered ones, if that makes things easier, then it might be worth getting some...

Thanks - I don't normally have time or the space to try much along those lines, was nice (from my point of view) that it was pretty quiet and I could get round the stage.

For selective colour I rather like it, I'd be tempted to crop a little from the right, the texture draws my eye away from the subjects...
