Downsizing Kit - Best 300mm Zoom Options (Nikon)

Well, i took the plunge and bough a 2nd hand 18-300mm f5.6 for £550 from WEX, it has only just arrived, but i must say i'm quite impressed already with only just playing with it in the office, going to have a wonder on my lunch break and give a better test

Downsizing Kit - Best 300mm Zoom Options (Nikon)

Ahh, i wasn't even aware there are 2 versions of this lens, and yes i did get that price from HDEW for the f6.3 version, thanks for pointing that out or i could have been very disappointed if i had bought it

Downsizing Kit - Best 300mm Zoom Options (Nikon)

Yes, but i'm struggling to find a direct side by side comparison between the 2, as like you say, they are really designed for 2 different camera systems But, i have always assumed (rightly or wrongly) that an FX lens would outperform a DX lens when used on a DX body

    GURUSHOTS

Yeah, i have been using it for the past few months, it's alright actually, not won anything, but most of the prizes aren't really worth winning anyway, but it's kept me and my mates entertained for a few months now, it does make it more fun if you have friends to compete with, well, it does for...

Downsizing Kit - Best 300mm Zoom Options (Nikon)

I was eyeing up the 28-300mm as i guess at that price it was going to be a step up from the 70-300 and 18-300, but it is quite a bit more than i was wanting to pay (around £750) as i was really looking at freeing up some cash Good call on the 18-300mm and a couple of primes though, i hadn't...

Downsizing Kit - Best 300mm Zoom Options (Nikon)

Yes, this is the big quandary at the moment, do i just mothball the 200-500mm for a while and see if i can "do without it" for a few months and just stick to the 17-50 & 70-300mm combo But if a Nikon 18-300mm is as good as the Tamron (need some opinions on this really) then it could be a...

Downsizing Kit - Best 300mm Zoom Options (Nikon)

So, long story short, my shooting habits and lifestyle have changed somewhat over the last year, and i no longer have the time/inclination to get up at the crack of dawn to go shooting wildlife like i have done for the past few years, i still enjoy going out for walks etc with my other half, but...

Do mpb normally pay what they've quoted?

Have you had confirmation it has been received, and if so how long did that take, as i am still awaiting confirmation it has arrived at MPB, as the tracking details supplied by DPD are next to useless, according to my tracking number the parcel was picked up on 12th Jan this year and arrived at...

Do mpb normally pay what they've quoted?

Just thinking the same thing, i haven't heard back about my Lens yet, which was collected on 12th Jan, perhaps there is a backlog of unwanted Xmas presents being traded in :)

Cheers, another one added to the list We did actually do a walk up Snowdon a few years back, but i had much smaller/lighter kit back then, not sure i'd manage it with current setup ;)
