The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

It is difficult as I do not have a direct comparison, sometimes it nails the shot, other times I feel the tracking is not sticky as it should be and it takes awhile to lock on, perhaps I am expecting too much. The A1 refocuses 6 times faster. Also the higher frame rate will offer more choice of...

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Sony 200-600mm. I find the black out terrible at high fps, especially when panning quickly, it is like being poked in the eye whilst trying to focus. Shutter to suit but normally over 2500. Sometimes manual, sometimes electronic shutter, however with electronic I do sometimes get bad distortion...

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Help……. Generally I do not normally ask for advice, however, with technology changing ever quicker and also increasing prices, I feel in a quandry. I am a keen hobbyist, I shoot most genres but I do have a strong tendency towards wildlife, my old camera was a Nikon D500 and I moved to Sony 2...

What are people's thoughts on the grey market area websites?

Grey imports where destined for another part of the world where retail prices, import taxes and local taxes all differ and are generally much cheaper than U.K. prices. They are exactly the same as a U.K. model, the only differences are sometimes you won’t get an English manual, I have heard of...

    Camera advise

I have the D500 which I love, but it can look a bit out of place on the table when you take the missus out........ I looked around considered a compact but wanted a viewfinder and the opportunity to change lenses if required, didn’t fancy used but had a limited budget, I opted for the Sony A6000...

    Sigma 150-600mm contemporary

Just check your allowance, flew with Air Transat last year, cheap as chips to Canada, they allowed normal carry-on plus another small bag, handbag or camera case, took the Loewpro flipside AW400 and the Sigma in its own case as it was under the size for the extra bag.

Beginner Beginner here looking for some advice, moving from bridge camera to DLSR

The focal length is 4.3-215mm as you said this is the actual focal length of the lens, the equivalent range to a 35mm/full frame DSLR is 24-1200mm. Most but not all DSLRs come in two different sensor sizes, asp-c which is the smaller sensor and the full frame sensor which is equivalent to 35mm...

    New or Used

Totally agree with what f/2.8 says, most of the second hand gear I see for sale the bodies and lenses are more expensive than buying grey. Buying grey you will normally get a minimum of a years warranty, used will get you normally 6 months at best or zero if buying privately....... Bought a...

Hi, Just getting into the post processing, built a starter/midrange PC and so far been using a cheap flatscreen TV as a monitor which is pants to be honest. Looking to purchase a monitor, budget is not fantastic £300ish possibly £400 at a push. Been trolling tinernet and my head is spinning two...
