I think it is a natural representation of the scene and imagine you would have found it hard to get any detail in the church without using the -2 stop photo as part of the HDR so yes a good example of the use if HDR. Would be interested as previously mentioned to see the best of the original...

I think photoshop does this by default. There is however a way to export a back-up of your settings and make presets but unfortunately I can no longer remember how to do it. If you google it though I seem to remember it was fairly simple

Formby is probably worth a visit. It can be quite at times and with patience sightings are not to hard to come by

Second crop and the mono really work well. Agree with the others though it's just a bit of a shame that you couldn't get the kite in shot as well

I agree with BRASH's first point, using the rule of thirds for composition, with the greater space on the side that the bird is facing would mean for better composition, however I still quite like them and the robin is probably my favourite
