Challenge Nifty Fifty 2026 Chat Thread

I'm working in Plymouth on Monday, so when I was fretting about finding a shot my wife reminded me that we'd probably be seeing plenty of boats over the weekend :D

My favourite 'street' photos from 2025.

Great set of shots! I enjoy shooting street stuff, but these are way better than anything I've managed. Thanks for sharing them :)

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

Despite what I said a few posts up the page, I'd go for the 55-200 in that situation. I've never had one, but I've heard it's a nice lens... handling wise it's very similar to the 18-55 which I absolutely loved, and having an aperture ring is always a nice bonus.

I meant to reply when you asked about these the other day Raymond. I've had one, and I've been thinking about picking up another one for the times when my 100-400 is overkill. It's a nice little lens; I read that the autofocus can be slow, but I never had any problems with mine. If you were...

    Linux Mint

I installed the lightweight version of Linux Mint on an old laptop last week; it was my son's, but it was dirt cheap and really not very good, so I got him a better one and this has been sitting under my desk. It wouldn'tet me do a factory reset to wipe it for donation to charity, as it's not...

    Glass.photo: users thread

I've been getting regular pings on my phone today and literally just mentioned to my wife that I didn't know why one photo was getting so much love... turns out it's been featured in a monthly category, so that's been a nice little thing that's cheered me up today :)

This was taken in a cafe in Digbeth, the morning after a friend's birthday party. Just an iPhone shot, from Feb 2024.

    A Mac Mini M4.......makes sense?

I've been using a base-spec M1 Mac Mini for a few years now and I love it. It doesn't take up much space on my desk, it works brilliantly for anything photo or music that I throw at it, and I honestly find the keyboard layout more convenient than the Windows version. I have an M3 iPad which is a...

Well, worst case scenario is that it will probably still work for a different camera in a few months time… ;)

I actually have two grips for my T4, one with an L-bracket and one without. I almost never use the L-bracket one, I should probably sell it really.
