The spyder 3 should be good enough.
Monitors can only be calibrated for 5-6 years - anything older or really cheap probably wont profile. Also remember that once the monitor is profiled the brightness of the room makes a difference - as does the colour of the wall behind the monitor. Also...
No matter which you choose - get a good calibrator for your screen. Once calibrated the prints you get from low cost labs that don't colour correct should be a near perfect match - and if you print yourself you'll at least know if its your file thats the wrong colour or density - or the...
I could argue that if you have a direct output it would require you to upload full size files which have been balanced and retouched and are ready to print. It depends on the percentage of sales - if only 20% buy you're doing a lot of work on files that won't be bought....
photocart 6 does everthing you are looking for - and more....
You can sell vouchers - allow auto downloads - and they can also buy with paypal too...
You host on your own space - its a one off purchase - about $350. Do a search - you'll find it's the mutts nuts! ;-)
And this is a free additional bit of the class - showing no matter how good the product, if you've got someones name wrong you'll have to reprint!
I'm sure Daryl will have mentioned that the name data schools hold is often wrong - or perhaps their "sunday" names - i.e. Daryl might be known most...
BTW- NEVER try out some new kit on a job without getting to know it first - not matter what camera stuff you've got, buying a new lens for a wedding is not going to make you a better photographer....
£100,000 of Nikon gear was stolen after the NPS roadshow in Dublin...
Including some D4's and a D800 - plus loads of lenses http://www.petapixel.com/2012/02/16/thieves-steal-over-150000-in-camera-gear-from-nikon-in-van-heist/
Here's the list of kit stolen...
I have a very sharp knife and book on surgery - my friend is needing his gall bladder taken out and he's happy for me to try - so I'll do it for free!
Or perhaps you don't mind loosing your friend?
Wedding photography is not really about photography - its about control and people skills. If...
Some people like to heat laminate their canvas prints - which is less messy and faster - but it requires a large press which will cost you a few thousand - and you can't use Epson prints - only Canon and HP
You don't have to coat the print - some of the low cost online companies don't...
There...
I cannot believe the replies....
As someone who has been in the industry for over 30 years let me point out a few things...
As I said earlier many camera shops/minilabs rely on sales from passport photos - and this would, in some shops cover more than one employees... for my own it accounts...
It'll have a big effect on high street minilabs - we have a shop in a village of 2,500 and we'd take in around £2,500 a year on passport sized photos - which are needed for driving licences, gun licences (our biggest single market - being in the country and they need 2 sets every 5 years)...
For coating a couple of friends use "frog juice" - not a windup!!!
Never printed on canvas myself - so not too sure... - I know that with an Epson you cannot use heat laminates - so it has to be a spray or liquid applied with brush/roller
much of the secrets are not on printing the canvas but...
.... coating the canvas with something to make it wipe cleanable
.... mounting the canvas onto the bars - evenly and well tensioned.
