What backing up equipment do you use when travelling

Microsoft Surface Go 2. The CPU is a bit feeble so I'll be upgrading to a Go 4 when MS has them back in stock.

What backing up equipment do you use when travelling

I have a 10.5" tablet/laptop that slips into the back of my camera bag plus a USB-C hub with card reader so I copy from SD card each evening and can even work on the images a little. I also back up to an external SSD (and also a large thumb drive if I'm feeling particularly paranoid).

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

I had an immediate acknowledgement email saying they would confirm approval within 14 working days which is up today. I haven't heard anything else since then so will try the email address provided. Epson did me out of £60 cashback at the end of last year so I'm not letting this one go.

    Bridge Camera Under £500

You have to understand that the compact camera market is effectively dead, killed by smartphones. None of the manufacturers has released a new bridge camera since 2019. Sony still sells one very expensive bridge camera; Panasonic has three, somewhat cheaper, and Nikon has two. All of them will...

Any mini PC users? Geekom, Beelink, Minisforum, etc

I don't think there's any major difference between the brands as long as the overall performance is similar. My PN51 has a Ryzen 7 5700U which is hardly earth-shattering but has no problems with the simple tasks I ask of it in PSE. I default to 32GB RAM where possible. A number here are now...

Any mini PC users? Geekom, Beelink, Minisforum, etc

I bought an Asus PN51 and found the fan unbearably loud so I popped the hardware into an Akasa Turing passive case. I'm thinking about a Geekom AS 5 as that's an Asus PN53 and there's a Turing case available for it.

    Sony RX100

Alex White's book on the RX100 VIII ($9.99 at https://whiteknightpress.com/photographers-guide-to-the-sony-rx100vii/) says they're mainly for video use and goes on to explain about them.

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

Is it good as a TV? The C3 in 42" or 48" form is top of my list to replace our current 42" TV which has irritating lines across the screen.

    Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

    Just a bit of silliness for a change. OM-5 & 20mm f1.4 plus two Godox TT685s.

    Lego and other Minifigures

So I made this little garden to go with my modular buildings and, before I'd even finished planting it, these two sneaked in for some 'quality time' together...

Affordable remote flash system for Canon R5

One of Godox's strengths is that the wireless component of the flashes is brand-agnostic so, if you change camera make, you can keep the flashes and just buy the appropriate trigger for the new camera.

High-end bridge cameras: Sony RX10, Panasonic FZ1000 etc

It's very unlikely there's any difference in IQ as Panasonic is still using the original 1" sensor that they started with in 2014.

    I've just realised (probably).

I haven't owned a DSLR since 2014 but there are still a couple of lenses hiding somewhere in a cupboard.....

    NAS

If you have several devices accessing the NAS simultaneously then updating just the NAS and switch would allow the extra bandwidth to be spread between the active clients.

    NAS

Not when the LAN speed is only 1Gb/s. Maximum transfer speed is about 120MB/s. After that you have to think about the number and layout of the disks. My main NAS has a 10Gb/s link to the switch as does my main PC. With six HDDs in RAID10 the maximum transfer speed I've seen is 4500Mb/s so about...
