Canon Speedlite/transmitter - Manual mode - Change flash power via Speedlite

Hi all, I'm quite new to flash photography - I have a Canon 600EX II RT plus an ST-ET-R3 transmitter. I want to use the off-camera flash in manual mode. Is it possible to control the flash power output via the flash itself, rather than the transmitter interface? I have the flash set to...

    Canon EOS R Series Cameras

I had this when I first got my R5, and like you when looking into it I found out about shutter shock. the proposed solution that came up a lot was to switch from the original camera default (of mechanical shutter) to electronic first curtain. I switched to this at the time, it cured my issue...

Do You Use Linear Camera Profiles?

I do sometimes in Capture One. I don't like too much contrast for a lot of images, and the standard 'Film' curve applied in C1 can be a bit strong on contrast. I find that, at the start of an edit, when I change from the default curve to the linear response curve (and then generally have to...

Printing at Home newbie - struggling with colour matching

Thanks TT. Just spent the best part of 2 hours in web chat with Canon support, testing the settings, drivers, etc, unfortunately to no avail. So they're escalating it to next level support, who will call me at some point soon hopefully.

Printing at Home newbie - struggling with colour matching

Thanks TT, for your input. I did a nozzle check (looked ok), and then a clean, and then a print alignment for safe measure, another nozzle check, all looks good. Yes I'd seen that colour correction page in the canon manual, thanks. I want to focus on getting it right first using the Canon...

Printing at Home newbie - struggling with colour matching

Thanks, BB. Well I got this Canon 'Photo Value Pack' for 2 x new XL ink cartridges, and I hadn't noticed when ordering but it came with 50 sheets of photo paper! (which is what prompted me to start trying out the printing). On the pack it calls it 'Glossy Photo Paper' - and in the Printer...

    Warm temp after monitor calibration

Thanks John. I edit both in daylight and evening (i.e. with room lights on). So I guess, if the white balance part was equal, I could have a couple of colour profiles, one for daytime, and one for night/room light - as the brightness levels would be different for both. However, as previously...

    Warm temp after monitor calibration

Update: I just calibrated again and the white point looks more like what I expected. I guess time of day, temp of ambient light is a key factor Yesterday I first calibrated towards end of daylight sort of time, and then again when it was dark/with room lighting - and the white point was the same...
