I'd prefer to see a scene like this in colour. I think the beauty of b&w is the drama and impact it can add. I don't feel that this scene lends itself to that.

Paul, I think the second image is over processed. The saturation has been increased too far which is evident in the grass and the sky. The scene itself is pretty uninteresting and the image is out of focus. When I first started trying landscapes I took similar shots. I soon found out that...

I'm afraid this doesn't work.....the reflection isn't clear enough and the composition of your image is poor. You need to stick to the basic rules. The 'subject' is just lost.
