I bought one last week and I'm pleased with the performance and weight of the lens for £164 from Carmarthen Cameras. They are offering 20% of all Viltrox lenses.
Quick play with the lens on a flower.
A7RV and Viltrox 50mm f2 AIR
Sony A7RV & Viltrox 50mm f2 Air lens by Swansea Jack, on Flickr
I have done a little bit of changing around. I wasn't really getting on with the grip on the A6700 even after buying a Smallrig Base Plate and a Grip. Also, I had an itch for a Macro lens and after looking into the options I thought the 70-200mm F4 II Macro lens would suit my needs.
So I sold...
I was thinking of asking the same question today. My next purchase is a macro lens and from what I have read this lens would suit my needs. May swap in my 70-350mm and buy the 1.4 TC to go with the 70-200mm
It does look bad on the Viltrox lens which still has the protective label fitted...Plus I used the 55mm f1.8 lens. Don't you get me wanting the 50mm f1.2 next . :runaway:
My 35 GM turned up today and thanks for everyone's advise when I asked my questions a couple of months ago on which 35mm to go for.(y)
I have also traded some lenses after using the Sony system for about 4 months. I swapped out my Sigma 24-70mm F2.8ii Art lens for the Sony 20-70mm f4. On a...
A Few more from Cornwall.
When we were away at Cornwall the wind chill made it feel a lot colder than when we were there for last New Year. Usually Fistral beach is always busy with surfers but it was the quietest we have ever seen it in 16years or so since we have become regular visitors...
Spent a week in Cornwall last week. When we arrived on the Saturday my wife heard a weird noise whilst unloading the car and too our surprise there were three Pheasants on the grass verge opposite our lodge. Had to get the camera out and take some photos. I have seen Pheasants many times whilst...
I loved the ZF with the Voigtlander APO lenses. The problem I had with the camera was that I needed a grip as the camera felt too small for my large hands and I had to use pliers to get the SD card out of the bottom of the camera. I couldn't grip the SD card with my hands. I prefer when the...
Thanks everyone for your replies an advise.
Since switching to Sony a couple of months ago I have spent over £4.4k on my two wildlife lenses and I have decided to push the budget for a 35mm lens and will purchase the Sony 35mm GM. I usually don't have much patience and want everything...
I'm in the market for a 35mm AF lens so any recommendations please. Initial budget is £500 and I don't mind used. When I had Z8 I had the Voigtlander 35mm f2, although being a fantastic lens I think AF is better for me at present.
Crap day weather wise on Good Friday as we headed down to Mumbles for me try out my Voigtlander 28mm f2 APO. I haven't used lens outside of my property yet. Being a total div I forgot at times the lens was MF so loads of OOF pics!!
Mumbles Lighthouse....A7RV & Voigtlander 28mm f2 APO Lanther...
As it's quiet on here a couple of photos from me testing the cropping ability of the A7RV and the 70-350mm lens when a red kite flew by. Also a photo of my best friend Hugo. He is coming up to 14 years old in a month or so and is camera shy generally. I should have been better with more...
Perhaps have a try with the newer versions in Sony mount if budget allows. I currently have the 15mm f4.5 and 28mm f2 and as I'm new to Sony these are what I have gone with initially. On my Nikon Z8 & ZF I had the 35mm & 50mm f2 APO versions and I had no problems on the Z8 45MP sensor with...
