Just had a frustrating morning doing insects ,dragons and butterflies etc. up to now I’ve been changing focus points via the I.menu which meant taking my eye off the subject and scrolling through .
I have now assigned focus point changes to the F1 button a quick press and it scrolls through...
Personally i think it’s a non starter for wildlife 99% of the time my long lens F6.3 @ 600mm is wide open anyway and under normal circumstances that’s good enough , as Steven pointed out there’s simply not enough time to worry over d.o.f settings

Think you will probably find distance shots at this time of year are affected by heat haze . I’m definitely noticing a difference between now and a couple of months ago .. this applies to any long reach lenses .. the only way round it is to shoot birds That are above the heat shimmer .
