I was about to post.... I had the 200 f2 vrii for a while... paired to a d5, and for under 2k, it's sensational. It is heavy and not as well balanced as the canon 200 f2, but for sports, I think it's the best focusing lens nikon made for the f mount

I had the x1d, but the af was really poor. The gfx 50s uses the same type of af, if you can, stretch to the gfx 100 as the af is vastly improved

Thanks - I think the big players (sony, canon, and nikon) are all very similar now, unless there's a specific lens / lenses I'd stick with your current system

What is the motivation for your itch? My understanding is that the sony cameras are superior in every way to the Nikons

Yes the d7500 will work with Af lenses

Very easy to achieve imo. It'd be more impressive Tracking the athlete running straight on into the camera- that's harder to get the eyes sharp and not catch an arm etc

The nikon 17-55 used is a bargain right now. No VR but it's a superb lens for dx cameras. I'd be tempted to investigate the sigma 50-100 1.8 as an interesting portrait lens

I agree. A lot of my friends have been messaging me about this camera as I shoot a lot of sport. But honestly, beyond 12 fps I can't really see the point. Epic performance in a camera though and I know silent operation is a big positive for some people. Exciting times for cameras

The nikon part number is: 1K100-035 There's a few sellers in the EU that have these if that's an option? Or the USA but shipping will take a while
