    Pentax K-5 or what?

Re the OMD E5, of course you can use any of your existing Pentax lenses on it too (with a cheap adapter). They would be manual focus only. Also, if they're modern lenses without an aperture ring then they would always work at the largest aperture, eg a 50mm F1.8 would always be at F1.8 ...

Maybe it's muddying the waters a bit, but there's also the Sigma 30mm F2.8 - probably lower quality but lower price too.

    Pocket sized 35mm SLR?

Bad timing. Just gave away an XA1 and XA2 to a charity shop last week - you could have had either one for a fiver and I would've been happy.

Mandoo, The Panasonic 14mm pancake is about £130 on fleabay, should be cheaper second hand here when you get funds. Still cheaper option might be to get micro 4/3 adapter for a cheap (but good quality) 50mm F1.8 lens, giving you a 35mm film equivalent of 100mm. eg Canon FD? or pentax 50mm...

    pentax k100d battery questions

Paul, same thoughts as tijuana taxi I have a k100d. I use Sanyo Eneloops (rechargeable batteries) and I think that they go for at least 500 shots between charges. Plenty of firepower in them. I usually have only 4 AAs in the camera and take a pack of 4 charged Eneloops for backup. They hold...

    "Panasonic G series" Owners Thread

Been kinda interested in m4/3 cameras, so I find this thread interesting. I don't live near camera shops so haven't seen any panasonics yet. For macro photos, does the "MF Assist" feature work well? ie does it allow sufficient detail to focus correctly using the zoomed-in view? And once you've...

    THE PP GAME!

Good one flying giraffe. I couldn't get detail from the sky, so replacing it seems good to me. Here's an alternative one. Cropped, high contrast, converted to b/w so that it appears to be a night shot. Not very good methinks

Thanks folks, back to my PC and stunned to see that I won  Here's the new image for you. Apologies - I don't think that the focus is as good as it should be, or it may be too much port of course! IMGP2685

Bird of prey/ Owl Photography Experience Days

Maybe one for next year - the Cotswold Wildlife Park (south of Burford) did birds of prey events last August. http://www.cotswoldwildlifepark.co.uk/news-events/events.php#birdsprey You could always try ringing them up and see if you can take photos if their staff do bird training? eg when they...

If you HAD to spend £430 in Jessops...

or a macro lens? They have the Canon EF 100mm F2.8 Macro USM for £429.95, so you're 5p under your limit! Or they have the Tamron 90mm f2.8 SP DI Macro 1:1 (Canon AF) at £354.95 so you'd have another £95 to go.
