I had a hair visable in the view finder on my old 50d. The hair was on the focus screen and was easily removed with a rocket blower. But it looked like it was inside the eye piece.
Yes the light was midday to afternoon not the best time as it was a family holiday. The sunny was strong and bright with a little mist in the distance. So what could I have done to make the best of the harsh light?
Thanks guys for comments.
They really are super skinny wobbly kayaks. I have been learning to paddle over the last few months and the balance, control and skill required is something else and I'm in a much more stable kayak. Hats off to these racing athletes, some races are 21k or more.
Cheers for the pointers. I'am not greatly happy with any of the snaps to me they just are missing something no dynamism a bit flat and boring. As I said I have never been very good at landscapes.
I did try and do my own thing and not look at other photos taken of the area prior to our holiday...
so how could i have made these photos better? circular polarizing filter to improve colours? Nd filter to get some cloud movement? soft grad balance the sky and retain detail? what would you have done?
I had a 50d for about 3 years. I was quite happy with it, the main issue for me was high iso lower light photography the noise was quite noticeable. The 50d was a nice step up from the 350d I had before it in all ways, I currently have an 80d which is a nice camera. I would really like to move...
Keeping on the Kayaking theme, while in the Nottingham I got to watch some white water kayaker's practising there skills.
Some great talent out on the water, balancing and surfing the waves.
Comments and feedback welcome...
Hi all,
Attached are some resent landscape shots from Scotland around the Glencoe area. Landscapes have always been a challenge for me, I have never had a great deal of success and its an area I would love to improve on.
I only had a limited time to take a few snaps as it was a family...
I thought I would share a few pics taken from a resent family zoo outing.

I had the pleasure of watching some of the best kayak marathon racers in the UK last weekend.
The weather was terrible 40+mph gusts, but the athletes took it in there stride and went on the water to win. The skill, power, speed and balance was amazing. Below are a few snaps from last weekend...
