    Canon fisheye - strewth!

Semantics aside; yes it is indeed part of cap, but with the centre part removed it may be used as a hood and as I mentioned, I personally do not use it as such.

Aye, the 8mm Sigma does have a hood, of sorts. The lens cap is a 2 part afair with the central lens cap part removed the second part hood can remain on the lens to act as a hood, though it seriously cuts down the width it also gives that full circle effect on a cropped sensor camera. (I take it off)

No, I dont think the lens is a duffer as it works fine for what I mostly use it for. Afraid any "dufferness" involved would have to be on my part, if I get a decent shot with it, it has been done by accident and not by design.

I have a Sigma 8mm and find it very difficult to get anything reasonable from it at all. Is a great lens for making 360° panoramas, but for stills? I find it a bit hit or miss. Heres one that I did like: (camera has a cropped sensor, hence the partial circle)

Ok, I read something about this, but my wee brain isnt making much sense out of what I read. Is a ring flash? but if so, it must be quite a big ring flash if you can get the fingers of both hands in it. How big is the ring flash? I thought they just fitted around the lens with little or no room...

    how to? tips for woodland

Could try using Enfuse Gui and blend a dark and light version of the same photo. For example, convert the raw file for the sky exposure and save as tiff (or jpg) then redo the raw convert for the tree and save again (with different file name) then load both into enfuse (can mess around with...

Rugby Union, this guy was amazing

Personally, to my untrained eye, I think it is a great photo. The expression on the guys face tells a story by itself.

Well, isnt easy to pose a question where the logic escapes me before I ask. (I think) I found the article I read it on: http://www.colinwoodsphotography.co.uk/articles_19877.html "The focal length of the lens is not important but the size of its objective is. The larger the objective the more...
