Where do I stand with this use of my photo?

Thx again guys. Right, this has now got all rather messy! The guy who originally sourced the pic for the tweet (i.e. got it from a website abroad who had watermarked it themselves!) has been in touch with me directly to explain things and I'll be e-mailing with him tomorrow. He's from an...

Where do I stand with this use of my photo?

Thanks for the replies folks, I've been beavering away and.. It's not on Getty (@ Pookyhead - you are correct!). When the company replied to me and said "It's from Getty" that tweet has now been deleted so I'm pretty sure they "borrowed" it from somewhere else. I've done the reverse search (thx...

Where do I stand with this use of my photo?

I recently saw a tweet advertising something which included a photograph that I took back in 2005. I asked them where they'd got it from and they said Getty Images. I've yet to track it down at Getty (it's a very common subject, there are thousands similar so finding it aint easy!) but if indeed...

    Canon 7D mk2 owners thread.

Hahaha, there should be some very decent price drops on MkII's coming up soon then :D

    Canon 7D mk2 owners thread.

Some wonderful birdie shots from Sue & Robin which now have me chomping at the bit to grab the Mk II, thank you for posting them, they're an inspiration. I daren't grab one just yet though since I must finish the decorating first or it will simply never get done!

    Canon 7d11

Canon know full well what people didn't like about the Mk1 (i.e. the low light performance) so I can't imagine for one minute that they've not pulled the stops out to make a significant improvement to it. We shall see in due course but it'll be one huge gaff if the performance is the same as...

    Which monopod please

For flying aircraft I gave up on my monopod because I found it harder to track them accurately with it attached. I do use it for stuff on the ground and have a QR plate so I can dump it quickly in order to get stuff in the air. I used to have a very compact Manfrotto MMC thing but it couldn't...

    Canon 7d11

I've seen November 17th mentioned in a couple of articles and several just said "November". In time for Christmas anyway (not that anyone is going to drop £1500 on my Xmas present, except perhaps myself).

    Canon 7d11

It's just occurred to me that with f8 sensitivity on the centre point I can put a 2x TC on my 400/4.... and I have a spare £400 thx to the pricing! It's not a bad old world sometimes ;)

    Canon 7d11

There's certainly a lot to like in that spec not least the price being £400 less than I'd allowed for! I don't care about Wifi, 4k is of no use to me and everything else is a definite plus over my original (with the exception of yet more weight). I'm definitely impressed on paper but will wait...

    Buying used - dates?

In the case of my 400 DO it's fairly well known that the very early models (c.2002) had problems which didn't occur later in the production run. I walked away from one with a 2002 date code as a result and bought a 2008. Sometimes date codes are rather useful!

    Hidden Histories: WW1's Forgotten Photographs

I'll check this out since I have a significant number of WW1 pictures myself from my great uncle, a WW1 pilot. I've bunged a load of them on a website about his short flying career if anyone's interested in those (it's not a commercial site so presumably ok to post here)...

    Daft things you overhear

My neighbour has some guys in to re-do his drive and I've just overheard them having a conversation..... "There was this thing in the paper right, those batteries you get in cameras and that can blow planes up, you know, those Lithuanian batteries" "Well, it's that rubbish eastern European...

    LED Street lighting

I agree with you Steve, it seems that not all councils are using the same ones in the same way. Our LEDs, which as I said are wonderful, are on much higher poles than the old yellow ones. They must be a good 8-10ft higher and that presumably increases the area they illuminate whereas if they...
