One thing with Sony and prices is at least you're pretty sure the lens is going to work and perform well on a Sony camera. We can't always say the same for some of the cheaper options.

It doesn't seem to be a popular choice but I have the Sony 24mm f2.8 G. I have two mini G's, the other being the 40mm f2.5. They are IMO good little lenses with good build and aperture rings.

Are you getting on to the size of the Sony 55mm f1.8 once the adapter is fitted? That's the problem with the Rokkors and Zuikos etc, once you add the adapter they're the size of a Sony AF f1.8.

I'd use wider aperture AF primes if there were some smaller and lighter ones even if the wider aperture came at the expense of IQ. I'm not even comfortable with the size of the Sony f1.8's. The Sony mini G's and the Voigtlander 35mm f1.4 are the size I'm happier with. I only use the Sony f1.8's...

Ah, Phuket way. We're on the bay of Thailand up to the NE of where you'll be. When eating out I got a bit tired of the food last year as I'm vegi and that limits the choices. I'm going to ask for special food this time :D I hope you enjoy your trip.
