Lovely Dave, have always wanted one of these. Hit the road and just keep going. Am very pleased for you.

Having a Father who is picky about names, isn't that technically a campervan as it uses a van chassis (unmodified) and still has the cab of a van? Where as a motorhome has a different body etc.

As long as you get waves from EVERY other motorhome driver/passenger whilst circumnavigating the motorways of England....then it doesn't matter.

What matters, is that once you've waved to your fellow Motorhomers (like you're the best of buds), you must then go on to completely blank them all when you reach the campsite.

Get a bit of photo kit in there then Dave :D

South of France for the summer then Dave? If you want addresses of some good sites in Provence, let me know. :)

Dave

No everything is a motorhome unless it is a VW, type 2, 25, 4 or 5 conversion ;-)

Our neighbour just got one of similar size on a Peugeot and now I want one!
Quite surprised they are reasonably affordable and lots of choice by about 5 years old.

We have a vw t2 called Daisy. Just waiting for her return after a bit of pampering and some warmer weather to try her out :)

Thanks everyone yeah were well chuffed with, :) managed to sell the old one now so thats good, were going to buy a cover for it for when its in storage

I know what you mean about, waving to other motorhomers we get loads of waves,

 Gramps yes can get everything in it

Alan yep deffo going to France :)

Might see you about then Anita :)

You might Dave. Just don't forget to wave. Enjoy.
Just collected Daisy. Will have to take some photos to post.

For a few years now I've fancied a 4/5 or 6 berth Motorhome.

Throwing all the photography and fishing gear into the back, telling the wife I'll see her in a season or two and just buggering off into the sunset really appeals to me. Hey ho, one can dream:shrug:

Well done Dave, enjoy(y)

I really enjoyed ours too (which we sold a couple of years ago).

I always seemed to sleep really well in it, and even something as simple as beans on toast tastes better when you cook it in a motorhome.

The best thing for me though, was lying there at night listening to the rain lashing against the roof, and you're all snug and cosy inside. Wicked. :)

Looks good Dave, enjoy.

I do just that in ours Brian, except I take the wife along at times for cooking duties..............:D

Definitely a motorhome, campervans are converted from panel vans, as you said above, this is built on a chassis cab.....so a motor home :)

I do remember the ribbing friends got when they turned up in a day van style one as it was their only vehicle for a while "no old-age travellers allowed!" was a favourite.
Well they were almost 40.

On more serious note. You mentioned getting a carbon dioxide monitor. Is that the same as you would have in house or is there special ones for campervans/motorhomes?

Forgot to say it was destined to be our Reg number ends DNJ - Dave N Julie hows that for coincidence

You'll be getting the old green windscreen sun shade done soon aswell :D with Dave N Julie on it ???

Anita - Carbon Monoxide detector - same type is fine. Just a standard battery operated one from any of the DIY sheds will do - just follow the mounting instructions on the pack. Replace the battery every year.

Dave - might see you about. We're just back from a week at Ullswater in our campervan. Most folk seemed to take the forecast too seriously and cancelled - we had the entire site to ourselves all week. Weather turned out beautifully clear and sunny (cold though) Great photo opportunities.

Happy travelling.

(oh - and we DO  at other vans, occasionally speak to folk after they've moored up too :D)

Thanks Pete, we go what ever the weather say well unless its massive snow falls, we always  most of which are folk going the opposite way, but we do talk to fellow campers on sites its only polite and you can have a laugh :)

Drove past it today Dave. Looks great.

Thank Lisa needs a wash already thats what you get living on a main road, but weve found a secure storage yard to keep it in :) so insurance will drop too (y) Happy
