Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens - The Latest Official Teaser

He does look old but I guess we're used to seeing him age unlike some of the others.

I so hope it's better than the last three films. Nothing will beat the original film for me.

Harrison Ford IS old. :)

Nothing against you Phil - already seen this on another forum too - but TBH I'm sick of 'teasers' giving little snippets. Either give me a trailer with some meat and real anticipation or stay schtumm until 2 months before release.

I'd already seen it elsewhere too. Just hadn't seen it posted here.

I guess 'teasers' are just that. This was the 2nd teaser and trailers will no doubt come nearer the time.

Same here although it was interesting to see episode 3 join up to the begining of the original film.

I grew up with the original films so those are special to me.

I took my eldest to see the last 3 films as they came out which she enjoyed as much as the first films. I guess she got all 6 together in her childhood.

No doubt my younger ones will go through it all now too :naughty:

Not excited about this at all :( I wish I was though

much more excited about the new avengers film at the end of the month :)

I also grew up with them and both of my parents worked on them. They were both sculpturers (model makers).

You could put money on it that it will not be.The last three films were ruined by CGI which is overdone way beyoned what is required to tell the story.Yes there is supposed to be a story in amongst all the Computer generated imagery believe it or not! I think.Such a shame.:runaway:

I didn't mind the first one of the second lot, if you get my drift. Yeah there were some poor characters notably jaja binks but the fight scene at the end was epic

Christmas can't come quick enough for me, now. Just having storm troppers back rather than those annoyingly comic battle droids is a major plus for me.

Agreed 100% but I'll still watch it though, just like I did the last 3 :D

A bit like that other thread on here.

Some Star Wars films are great and some are fairly poor. Lots of people have an emotional attachment to them though and enjoy them all.

Just hope J.J. Abrams doesn't mess it up like he had done with the two recent Star Trek films.

Personally i think Abrams done a amazing job of breathing new life into a stagnent Star Trek franchise and believe in his potential for the new Star Wars. With Super 8 you really got a sense that he had eaten, slept and dreamt Spielberge/Lucas and has based his body of work, on their ideals, which is to entertain. Of course it could all go south, but when watching the new teaser I felt like i had trasported back to that exstatic 8 year old in 1977.

They concentrate far to much on the special effects now and not the story. Most action films seam to be like that now,it's all very disapointing.I dont want to look at a film that cut's from one shot to the next every 0.75 seconds in order to try and create some tension(standard proceedure now as with pop videos).Lets have a story.

VERY COOL! - kudos to you parents.....

For me I was 13 so the films captured my whole imagination - I loved the concept the background and the genre, it was a revelation when compared to Star Trek, Space 1999 and others of the same era.

I saw what was good in the "Other three" and found No 4 to in fact be a good link to 4. 5 and 6 for me the acting in them was trying to set a new standard to eclipse the originals, but the honesty of those originals could never be matched and never will be. However that is no reason to write off the rest and any future films! there will be more more! the new owners of the franchise have to make a return on the investment after all.....

My lad and me are looking forward to it ..

it does look good. Abrams is a big fan, he gets what star wars is about and looking at the trailer, hes going for scale as well. He also uses old-school film making so doesnt rely on CGI so much.
I enjoyed his star trek reboot, i didnt enjoy his second effort so much, the writers took too much from Wrath of Khan, what could have been a good idea wasnt properly written.
..and back to star wars, this film is co-written by the writer of Empire Strikes Back, which is good news.

It was certainly way ahead of its time when compared to those and similar (y)

Very true :)

I like teaser trailers, if it's the chance to get a bit of a sneak peak early on as opposed to nothing, it's a no brainer for me. I hate trailers where you don't have to watch the film as you have seen all the good stuff already.
I'm excited.

but when watching the new teaser I felt like i had trasported back to that exstatic 8 year old in 1977.

That's the feeling I got although I was only 6 in 77

When the prequels came out I watched them and whilst I thought they were average at best - I'll admit I got a little lump in my throat towards the end of episode 3 as the story and cinematic detail began to be 'Star Wars' again.

Very true. Out of the three new ones episode 3 is the only one i own. Its actually pretty decent and woud be so much better if they cut out most love scenes with Anakin and the Padame. I got that lump too[emoji3]

Anyone going to be watching all six in a row before seeing the new one? I think i might[emoji16]

I thought at the end of Return of the Jedi, the Empire lost, which would meant the Rebels would have restored the Republic and bring back the Senate. Do that YouTube clip imply the war is still not over? It seems a bit like as if World War II is still not finished, even if it did end.

At the end of Return the Emperor was dead but most of his empire was still intact. So lots of Moffs with control of fleets and systems who just wanted to take over themselves.

In the (now somewhat pointless) expanded universe novels the new republic spent years fighting the imperial remnant.

I loved it that somebody took the dvd and edited every scene out with jar jar binks in then put it back on the Internet , I think george Lucas was trying to make it appeal to kids when the real target audience was blokes in their mid 40s who wanted to be 13 again

There were three Star Wars movies so far as I'm concerned:

Star Wars (not episide IV FFS), Empire Strikes Back.. and Return of The Jedi.

The end.
