Alternatives to RRS L-Plate for 1DX

Howdy,

I have a RRS BH-55 ballhead and official L Plate for my Fuji XE2 - went for the fuji L Plate as that's my most used camera on the ball head. I had however looked at the L Plate for the 1DX and was saddened to see the exuberant price :(

Just wondering if anyone with the BG-55 has ever used a non RRS l-plate and could recommended ?

I have a mix of RRS and Kirk body plates and L-plates for my bodies and the 1Dx L-Plate happens to be the Kirk version (BL-1DX)....they're pretty much each other's equal in terms of quality and usability.

Any Arca-Swiss type L-bracket will fit the head.

It's a shame about RRS being so expensive. It's a long way off cheap to start with, but by the time you've paid shipping and VAT on top, it's just crazy.
