in the frig i had stored these rolls - since about 2013

A....2 x FujiFilm Neopan 100 ACROS. process by 02/2013

B....1 x FujiFilm Superia 200 by 05/2011

C....1 x ILFORD XP2 Super 400 by 02/2013

D....2 x KODAK T-Max 100 Pro by 02/2013

E....4 x KODAK Gold 200 by ?

would any of these still be usable..?

I dont want to waste money printing if their stability is suspect...

thanks for comments.....john

They'll be fine shoot as per normal, I'd be weary of the Gold since it has no date but consumer films do age better apparently so you might have some colour cast but I doubt it'll be anything to worry about.

OOD 2011 / 2013 ..... shoot it at box speed, the kodak gold open up a stop or six....its colour neg so will probably be almost impossible to blow the highlights:D

C41 film will have colour shifts eventually and no doubt b&w neg film will reach a point of being no good at some point but I've shot colour film 10 years plus OOD with no probs whatsoever and would comfortably shoot older stuff.

As for B&W , the last seriously OOD film I shot was dated 1949 ( iirc) and needed little more than a couple of stops exposure to give results as if it was a roll of 2016 Tri X

Folk get hooked up over dates on film like they do with dates on tinned food ....it will last for years beyond those dates!

Ever thought how by putting a date on just about everything gets people to be "scared" and bin it:runaway:, then buy some more "fresh" stuff to be on the "safe" side:thinking:

I've never seen an age faded acros but I've seen examples of all the others with age problems but yours aren't that old really.

I'm using rolls of agfa optima 200 that have been kept refrigerated for 20 years (expired in 1997) and they have produced fantastic results. (even without overexposing) I also use ilford and fuji black and white films that expired around 2008 with no issue either.

If you know you aren't going to use it for a very long time, stick it in the freezer. (I've got a boat load of velvia 50 stashed away in mine)

thanks for all your replies - sorry it's been a while - my internet connection is 99% OFF since Christmas, as OpenReach replace damaged poles and lines to the farm

but - 16 shots so far on the Kodak Gold - will be a good check on the light seals too
