Nikon D750 & D780

Didn't you use to own a 70-200 2.8 VRII?

Yes I loved it so would buy one back but if the F4 is nearly on par it make sense to save money??

So they've had one of mine for a week now, just think how many pieces it might be in :(

How good is the F4 at F2.8?

It won't do it but reviews saying the VR motor in the F4 is better than the F2.8 so can get shots with F4 as you would at 2.8

How reliable is that site??

As reviews seem differ on some other sites
As reliable/unreliable as any other site from my experience. There's always sample variation hence the discrepancies in results. If you don't need f2.8 then the f4 is the obvious choice, very sharp, lighter and cheaper. I don't know how AF compares though, as you know the VRII is very fast.

You swap cameras every two minutes and you're worried about saving money???? ;) :p

Well, you can't get the same shots, because they'll have a different DOF.

Now now people let's not get nasty on here, it's not in the nature of d750 owners.
Plus we don't need another visit from the mods [emoji57]

I did try to help him in the past, I sent him raw files of mine and screen shots of all the processing I did in lightroom as he had pm'd me saying he couldn't get images processed right. Even after sending him all that he still couldn't get my files to look like how I had got them. Don't know how he thinks it is the camera that is the problemo_O

F4 seems pretty fast to me - but I don't have the 2.8 to compare too!

Its a lot lighter and smaller than the 2.8, but its F4.

Got to deceide what you want it for and whant matters most. But looking at the swaying between so many cameras you have had... this may prove problematic!

I appreciate that he changes his camera a bit. Asks lots of questions in most sections. But he does take a lot of flak and is at most of the brunt of our jokes. He laughs them off from what I have seen. He may not listen to most of the advise he is given but that is he choice at the end of the day. Just ignore what you don't like.
Let's get back to posting pictures and the funny banter we were having before.
Otherwise I'll be forced to post more dog pictures on a daily basis [emoji3]

Thank you

I do take as much in as I can. Yes I can take joke and banter but sometime just a bit too far [emoji6]

Haha I knew @rookies wouldn't last long before changing yet again...... you got it bad mate! :D GAS and Pixel Peeping at its finest!

So @rookies ..... can you list what camera's you have had and gone to in 2017?
D750 to A7 II to D500 and now back to D750?

Don't mean to interrupt the banter - but LR presets. Do you guys use them, if so, where do you get them from? Looking to branch out my processing style and looking for some inspiration.

VSCO presets are a good base but can be costly if you want all of the packs.

RAD software is worth a look and greater than gatsby do some LR ones too which will be good.

As above VSCO doe some nice film ones, but pricey. I bought a huge bundle (nearly 500 presets) from presets galore for around £20 and there's a few good ones in there too. However, I've made my own presets and tend to use those now if any.
