Lost tripod - Norfolk

Ouch! I hope it turns up.

Keep an eye on E Bay - if it appears there they can be very helpful.

Is there not anyone who looks after the grounds? Handed in perhaps.....

It's a derelict church, I've contacted the estate owners and knocked on some doors but nothing has been handed in. Even tried the police but it's a popular place for photographers so somebody got lucky!

Bugger [emoji45]

That's what I was thinking!

On the positive side, the nice people at Wex Photographic have been in touch and although they don't have it in stock they've gone above and beyond to get a replacement to me in time for my workshops :)

Fantastic service from WEX!

You will probably get the newer version of the Gitzo and I have a mint 410 you can borrow if needed.

It is the newer (more expensive) version, cheers but ordered the 410 at the same time

What was the model of the tripod that you lost? Serial Number?

I look at FleaBay a lot so am quite happy to keep an eye out. I should have mentioned sites like GumTree as well.

It was a Gitzo GT3542XLS with Manfrotto 410 geared head and a manfrotto spacer. I don't know the serial number but there are identifying features.

Actually I have the box somewhere so I might have the serial number... will check later.

Had a quick look but couldn't see anything. There is one of FleaBay but it looks OK - the vendor has good feedback and has sold a number of photography related items.

Thanks for looking, I had a look last night when I read your post and saw there was one on there but it has the little tool bag with it (which I still have) so I knew it wasn't mine.

It did look like an honest listing to me.

For what it's worth I have seen a marked decline in dodgy lens listings on E Bay over the last few years, they have improved a lot! It is a bit sad but I used to have a little "Sport" spotting the dodgy Canon Big Whites on that site and could normally spot a couple or three each time I looked - I haven't found any for quite a while = no fun!

That takes SOME doing that does LOOSING a tripod, (Says the Dad who once left his baby behind in the trolly at the super market)! Can you claim on some sort of insurance and should you?

Yep not an easy feat, I have professional insurance for my gear, workshops etc and they've already paid out... it wasn't cheap to replace so def worth claiming

Hahaha!

Years ago I worked on a farm, the guy I worked for left a few things at market. Included in the list were a pen of bullocks, his sheepdog and his nephew! I kid you not! It was always muggins here that ended up having to go and fetch the "lost property" in the evenings, sometimes travelling to places like Derby, Melton and Leics cattle markets and once I had to travel all the way to Banbury late at night![emoji44][emoji15][emoji16]

Well you won't have to travel to Derby Cattle Market again as the city council* have shut it.

Doesn't look like he's logged in since last Thurs.
He should get an alert if you `quote` from his post (as I've done with yours) or just type @ before the username @justinminns (y)
