Had a trip over to the east coast with my wife a couple of weeks ago and packed the camera, a couple of lenses and the travel tripod (just in case )
Weather was quite poor and the black ice put me off travelling too far as it was not really a photography holiday.
Got out at sunrise on one occasion - but the cloud killed any light from the rising sun.
We visited Staithes one afternoon for a potter around and a spot of lunch - I managed to wangle it so that we left the pub and started heading back to the car 45 mins before sunset
The sky looked full of snow and we had a few quick flurries - As the sun got lower it cast some fantastic light down the river valley onto parts of the town and onto the surrounding clouds.
The wife headed back to the car and I had strict instructions to "be quick"
