West Coast Rail 37's came down to The West Shed to collect Princess Elizabeth for transfer to Carnforth. Managed to get them outside before they got on to the main line, with enough time to get to another location, this time from a level crossing between burton and lichfield, followed by a quick pic as time allowed at Lichfield Trent Valley.

One picture from each location

Lovely, there was a train station where I live but they demolished it in the 1960`s

Very nice indeed, a pleasant sight from the stereotypes I witness and travel on "stand I might add" every weekday morning at 6.30am :(

Love the warm tones on a no doubt cold day in the first photograph.

Three very nice shots Sir, particularly liking #2 & #3.(y)

George.

Looks as though the rear diesel in the first photograph is steaming out of nostalgia. :)

Very nice photographs! My most exciting moment as a young trainspotter was sitting on the wall of a railway bridge overlooking a large shuntting yard, when Mallard (still holder of the world record for a steam engine of 126mph) came chuffing out from under the bridge and blew steam up my trouser leg!

Thanks, it's a great shame, a lot of these would be hidden gems these days.

I was hoping the light was going to stay, but alas it didn't last long, it was indeed cold, but worth it!

Thank you George for looking in, much appreciated.

Thanks Chris, what a great memory to have, I love the a4's, my first train set was Sir Nigel Greeley.

Love shot 1 - showing off that lovely LMS colour very nicely!
