Out walking the local moors yesterday, I happened upon a Badger sett and to my surprise, there it was, out in broad daylight..... typically, no camera :banghead:!

The sett is in a good spot for some photos without disturbance, 5/6ft high dry stone wall runs along the front of the sett around 30yrds away.

Returning yesterday evening, I positioned the camera on top of the wall, turned on live view, aimed it at the entrance, kept low and waited.

After a good hour stood in the bl**dy rain it appeared, stuck its head out, sniffed around and went back in. To say I was pleased is an understatement, :)

Weather was poor, 1/200th, f6.3. ISO 4000 but its in a spot that should get some evening sun so its work in progress

Thanks Roger, it does add some cuteness to the shot. Hopefully I'll be able to get a few shots of it out of the sett over me next few visits.

The wind direction wasn't in my favour last night either, the way it sniffed the air and went back in made me wonder if I had an odour problem :D

Thanks Stu, I've a feeling I'm going to have to make an effort and try a few early starts.

Owt after half 6 in the morning am fine, I like me bed too much for owt before! :D

I do earlier every day for work bro,I'm the same. if not grafting I tend to try and catch up ,which clobbers me for morns, and images. I also find the light changes faster morns,so I don't shot then much.Which is a shame. But have got out early twice this week off. Yesterday on 5 hours sleep 'cause I hit the eve session too night before. It was paradise bro

As hard as it is it might just be worth it I just did , "drive by" for most of it(lazy git lol).hit every spot I know roe frequent, cool having this local knowledge.. Got super lucky with me hare spot not great images, but seven tanking round a field and in one frame is seriously cool for me It was awesome to watch. Also got a lovely catch up with another roe buck, fab not having humans about .That was the best bit really . I guess for you and brock much depends on where the light works, but despite all what I've just said my leaning might be towards evenings anyway. I knew a set where the kids would play in the middle of the day mate, so I'd keep your options open as when they start to venture you might be able to have ya bed and le in it so to speak;)

all the luck what ever, one day I'd really like to hit brock with the camera myself
